Hopping vampires, or Jiangshi, are the reanimated dead of China, who kill mortals and consume their life force. There are many ways a corpse can become a Jiangshi, including black magic, an untimely burial, or having a pregnant black cat jump onto a dead body. There are also numerous ways to combat them. When confronted with rice, Jiangshi must count all the grains before moving on. Holding your breath when attacked can thwart a hopping vampire.
