31 Days of Monsters: The Lidérc

If you take the egg of an all-black chicken and incubate it in a pile of manure, it will hatch into a lidérc. A Hungarian shapeshifting demon that attracts money to its "owner", a lidérc can also transform itself into a fantasy lover for its master much like an incubus or succubus. If kept too long however, a lidérc will begin to drain the life from its owner, delivering the victim's soul to it's real master, the Devil. The best way to rid yourself of a lidérc is to give it an impossible task to complete. If unable to finish the task, it will either return to Hell or tear itself apart in frustration.

31 Days of Monsters: Goatman

 

The Goatman is the kind of monster that haunts Lover's Lanes in a variety of locations across the country. Most stories describe him as being a cross between a goat and a human with goat-like legs and a goat's head. In most accounts he terrorizes people and on occasion attacks unfortunate people with a blood-stained axe.

Stories diverge as to his origin. Some say he used to be a scientist who was turned into a goat by one of his experiments. Others say he was a circus freak who escaped to seek revenge on the gawkers who used to taunt him in the sideshow. Still others say he is a farmer who sold his soul to the devil.

31 Days of Monsters: Day Twenty-seven — The Devil

I don't believe in actual physical incarnations of evil like The Devil, but if he did exist, I imagine he'd be pretty unassuming, and not the cloven-hooved image we usually expect. Also, he would have the easiest job in the world. He's always pictured tempting people into sinning, or tricking them into giving up their souls, but in reality, I don't think he'd have to work very hard at either of those pursuits.
