Oilliphéist is a massive serpent from Irish mythology that is said to have cut the path of the River Shannon. Once, Oilliphéist swallowed a drunken piper whole. The piper, unaware that it had been devoured, continued playing and drinking from inside the beast. After hearing the same tunes played over and over, Oilliphéist became so crazed, that he vomited up the piper unscathed, just to end the unceasing music.

The Wampus Cat is a six-legged predator created by ancient Native American shaman as punishment for violating tribal taboos. The Wampus Cat is a relentless hunter, capable of using its four hindmost feet for running while using its front two feet to fight. Once a Wampus Cat is stalking you, death is close behind.

Many people are aware of the movie version of "The Fly," but most are unaware that the inspiration for the film came from a short story of the same name written by George Langelaan. As in the film, a scientist experimenting in teleportation becomes horrifically melded with a common housefly. In the short story, however, the scientist attempts to separate his and the insect's body by going through the teleporter again, and instead adds to his monstrous condition by reintegrating parts of the pet cat he lost in an earlier experiment. Weird, eh?
