31 Days of Monsters 2014: Mill Lake Monster

Charles Mill Lake in Ohio is an apparent hot-spot for strange paranormal activity, not only is it the home to a bigfoot-like creature known as Orange Eyes, and a site of frequent UFO and Men in Black sightings, but it is also home to the Mill Lake Monster. In 1959 several area teens claim to have seen a strange reptilian creature rise from the lake to menace them. The beast stood seven-feet tall, had green scaly skin, no arms, webbed feet and luminous eyes. The youths couldn't say much more about the nature of the creature because they were running for their lives. Kids!

31 Days of Monsters: The Flatwoods Monster

The Flatwoods Monster was a strange being that appeared in Braxton County, West Virginia in 1952. The strange creature menaced several people in the region and was accompanied by the appearance of a glowing ball of light. Many believe the creature to be the occupant of a UFO, but it's odd appearance makes it stand out against the typical "Grey" aliens that have become the standard model for alleged interplanetary visitors to earth.

31 Days of Monsters: Day Eight — Mothman

Mothman began appearing in Point Pleasant, West Virginia in the mid 1960s. Described as a large moth or owl-like human, it haunted an explosives storage area on the outskirts of town.
The strange, menacing figure became a harbinger of doom for townspeople, always seeming to appear before tragedy. His appearances culminated in 1967 when he was seen shortly before the collapse of the Silver Bridge over the Ohio River, a tragic event that killed 46 people. He hasn't been seen since.
Some people believe Mothman is tied to UFO sightings in the area at the time, and he may be an alien. Others believe he may be an extra-dimensional animal who somehow slipped sideways through a crack in the Universe, and that he may be as benign to his world as a cow or rabbit seems to us.
Skeptics say that the entire Mothman phenomena was just mass-hysteria, and that what people really saw was a sand-hill crane.

31 Days of Monsters: Day Three — The Kelly-Hopkinsville Goblins

In 1955, two families found themselves under siege from strange creatures at farmhouse in rural Kentucky. For hours  goblin-like entities terrorized the residents by peering into windows, and grabbing at anyone who ventured outside. Several of the creatures were shot at with rifles, but bounced back up into the air after being hit, seemingly unaffected by the bullets, and even gravity itself. The arrival of the creatures was accompanied by strange lights and sounds in the sky, which leads many UFO buffs to believe the whole event may have been an attempt at alien abduction by the beasts.
