In Middletown, Maryland, a strange beast prowls the woods. Reportedly as large as a calf, with werewolf-like features and a long bushy tale, the Dwayyo has a personality as nasty as it’s appearance. It will tangle with any creature that gets in its way, and is very hard to track.

The Alphyn is a rare heraldic creature from European legend. Spectacular in appearance, Alphyns combine the traits of dragons, wolves, goats, eagles and serpents into a fearsome form that has to be seen to be believed. Of course, they also combine the viciousness of those same creatures and should be avoided at all costs.

Outside of Elkhorn, Wisconsin a fierce wolf-like creature haunts a lonely secluded road. Some say it is a werewolf, but others claim it is an escaped genetic experiment. Whatever it is, it's best not to spend too much time on Bray Road.

31 Days of Monsters: The Beast of Gevaudan

The former province of Gevaudan, France was haunted for many years by an enormous beast that was claimed to have killed over 100 men, women and children. The beast caused so much bloodshed in the region that King Louis XV dispatched a series of professional hunters to destroy the creature. Numerous wolves were killed but the killings continued until one hunter killed an enormous monster using a silver bullet. Upon cutting the beast open it's stomach was found to contain the bodies of several human victims.
